Working with County Schools FOSC and Patagonia Lake State Park staff developed curriculum that instructed students in water quality sampling techniques.
Using real science equipment in the classroom and in the field students sampled water for the following indicators; temperature, dissolved oxygen, turbidity, pH and the presence of Aquatic Vertebrates.
While learning the importance of team building and collaboration the science informed the students that water quality impacts plant and animal life in the watershed, the importance of riparian habitat and the need for protection.
